Wind and waves were 30-degrees off port.  It was a lumpy ride, beating all the way.  However, the day was still beautiful, until we made the cut at Roger’s Cay.  Intending to anchor for the evening between Roger’s and Pimlico Cays, we grounded in an entrance too shallow and narrow.  Steve coaxed the boat free, letting us anchor inside to await high tide.   We went hard aground leaving, only freed by two small boats from Ship’s Channel Cay.  The forward section of the starboard keel and aft section of the port keel sustained some damage, with minor scraping along the entire lengths of both.  Damage would have increased exponentially if the tide went out and they had been unable to free us.

After leaving Robert’s Cay, anchored in the lee of Ship’s Channel Cay, we will have a rolling night.  At least we are better off then we would have been.
